william shakespeare was born in staford-upon-avon, england and was baptized on 26 april. his parents were mary arden and john shakespeare; he had seven siblings.

as a child he attended he staford grammer school. he enjoyed reading stories written by latin authors and also learning english. when he got older he worked for a butcher.

shakespeare got married to anne hathaway, who was an orphan. he was 26 years old when she gave birth to his first child, susana. she gave birth to twins in 1585, hamnet. who died in 1596, and judith.

he was a great actor, playwright and poet. his career was based in london, england between the years 1585 and 1592; he however stopped writting for a few years, 1578 - 1582.

william shakespeare was a great writter and is still recognized throughout the world today.

desperation

in brother man we are able to see desperation to a large extent in one chracter, that is cordillia. we see this when she spent the money brother man gave her to feed tad for obeah. because she was so desperate, and she believed the obeah would work she sacrificed tads nutrition for the sake of obeah, which, did nothing for her child.
after all the bad things that happened to her she became even more desperate; she eventually resorted to killing her child and herself.

symbolizom in brother man

well i do agree that the novel brother man is symbolic. i think so because it shows us what could happen to anyone of us. for example, it speaks about domestic violence which is a very real social issue. it also talks about how bad things do happen to good people. for example, brother man helped alot of people but they forgot about that very quickly when a man with draed locks killed someone; they stigmatized him and abused him. this happens everyday. the novel also speaks about obeah, which is not as widespread now as it was when the novel was written, but is still a very real thing. the novels shows what happens when we do not have faith in god; in the case of cordy she went crazy, killed her child and then killed herself.
i think that the novel brother man is of a symbolic nature because it speaks on realistic issues.
